Looked in the mirror today

&started curating my brain

With all the things I've done wrong

I never wanted to be

Alone with thoughts I just need

To keep it pushing along

The city lights in the horizon

Used to reflect upon the water

I always saw my life in them

But now that they're not shining

Is my future smaller

Or is it the same

I just really wish I had more of a say

I always filled my life up to the brim I had to win

I always wanted to squeeze more minutes in

Now that I've really had the time to think it's kind of ****cos

Everything has gotten bad

But sometimes it be like that

I always wanted to keep

Only my own company

And now they're forcing me too

I feel a little stupid

Got lost in all of the movement

Couldn't sit still now it's all that I do

I miss having heaps on my plate

Miss missing my train

Miss getting home late

I should've known it all along

That you don't know what you got until it's gone

I wish I had more control over what happens in my life

The yes's and the no's

But that's just how it goes

I wanna have the hindsight

To stop and get my mind right

But I'm always in a rush

I wanna hold the map up

And make all of the plans but

It's not up to me
