Four in the morning

I woke with a start

I woke with a pounding deep

Deep down in my heart

And it's all over now

But I had such an awful dream

I don't know what it tells me

I don't know what it means

I don't know where it comes from

I don't know where it leads

And it's all over now

But I had such an awful dream

Maybe it was something somebody said

Maybe it was nothing

The wrong side of the bed

But all I know is that it scares me

Even though it's not real

And I had an awful dream

And it's strange what you see

In the middle of the night

When your eyes aren't even open

And there isn't any light

And it's all over now

But I had such an awful dream

Now I know what you're thinking

You wanna know what went down

You wanna know if you were in it

Don't let me go you weren't around

Oh and it's all over now

But I had such an aw-aw-awful dream

Have you ever had the feeling

Something you can't shake

It doesn't matter if you're sleeping

Or if you're awake

And nothing's as it should be

At least that's how it seems
