本曲以古曲《阳关三叠》为蓝本展衍而来，慢板部分保留了古曲旋律，快板部分加入了中东音乐的元素，听之似随乐者从长安一路行至西域，长安青柳，塞上孤鸿，蹄痕撤迹，赠别杯酒。

Adapted and expanded from the ancient tune ""Yangguan Sandie"", this piece features a slow section that retains the ancient melody and a fast section inspired by Middle Eastern music. The musical journey illustrates the departure from Chang'an, the Tang capital, to the distant Western frontier. The scenery depicts Chang'an's green willow, a lone goose flying over the frontier, horse tracks, and a parting cup of wine, all merging to depict the heartbreaking expedition.
