Born and raised in Kelowna, BC, Alecia had a passion for singing and playing the piano at a very young age, performing in her community and school, and involved weekly with her church worship team. Alecia's love of country music began while listening to it in her parents home growing up. Her parents and family have always encouraged Alecia to follow her dreams. In high school Alecia began songwriting and learned to play guitar. After graduating high school Alecia moved to Alberta where she attended the Red Deer College Music program and received her Music Diploma in Voice and Piano Performance. Alecia views singing as a gift since she knows how it feels to be taken away. Just before attending her college music program a large tumor was found on her thyroid gland. Feared to be cancerous the only option was surgery to remove the tumor. During surgery a nerve was severed which resulted in what the Doctor’s said “permanent paralysis of Alecia’s right vocal cord”. Alecia was told by a throat specialist that she would never speak normally, let alone sing again. Despite the devastating facts Alecia faced, she believed in a miracle. Her strong faith in God carried her through as she learned to trust in Him to restore the gift He had blessed her with. After six months of learning true faith and trust in God, Alecia’s voice was fully restored and deemed nothing short of a miracle. The next few years Alecia worked hard to build her music career performing many gigs throughout Central Alberta and spending some time in Nashville TN songwriting and performing. Music then had to take a back burner in Alecia's life for a few years when she went through a very tough time in her personal life, but she is now back with a renewed passion for music and life! Alecia has recently recorded three Country songs co-written with and produced by Matty McKay. Her latest song "Beautiful For You", a Contemporary Christian song written solely by Alecia, was also produced by Matty McKay. Alecia has a desire for God’s will in her life and for Him to take her where He wants her with both her music and her life. Her passion for songwriting and performing Country and Christian music is evident. Alecia also has a passion for helping others and is a long time supporter of World Vision. She also takes every opportunity to perform benefit concerts for organizations such as the MS Society, and volunteers at a care facility in Red Deer singing/playing piano and guitar. She feels that her purpose in life is to bless others with the gifts God has blessed her with. Alecia’s music truly is a gift from God that touches the heart and soul.
