The freshness and familiarity of this record will surprise you and take you an adventure from beginning to end. Starting with "Flora” as an introduction, (a reference to the powerful song from Lisa Parade's first release, "Out of the Funbox") it slams into "Whatchugonnado with your Life?" with hints of reggae and punk. You can hear the diversity of Lisa Parade right away as the third song falls into a 6/8 Klezma merry-go-round feel enhanced by inventive vocal arrangements, tambourines and pick slides. The third song, "Beautiful Possibility" (theme song for ABC's MisGuided) shows yet another color of the complicated Lisa Parade as she displays her love of words, rhythm and human nature. The fourth song, "Back to Bed", a song about loneliness, love and determination brings me to tears every time. The musical journey continues to weave from dark to light, from heavy guitars to banjos and clarinets, from solo voices to grand harmonies. The lyrics are brilliant and the melodies are catchy.
